Homemade Breakfast Bagel and Homefries

This morning I decided to imitate my favorite breakfast bagel breakfast, which Mike and order once a week from KG’s, a local diner across the street from our house.

I made some slight substitutions to my old favorite, and I am proud to say that my homemade version of the breakfast bagel meal came out on top.

I used browned and buttered Thomas’s plain bagels, Egg-Land’s Best extra large fried eggs, Bar-S 97% fat free deli cut ham, Velveeta cheese slices, and Idaho potatoes, seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoned salt. I was very satisfied with the result. They were “The Bomb!”

The bagel was toasted on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, The ham was juicy, browned, and free of fat chunks, the cheese was ooey, gooey, and melted. and the egg was cooked all the way through with crispy edges. We just may have to take a break from KG’s for a while and indulge in breakfast at home more often.

I liked it so much that I think I just may have the same meal for dinner tonight :-P
